What emo hairstyles would look good with my hair?
Q. I am 12, and I am pretty emo. I want to get an emo/scene haircut, but I don't think any of them would work on my ultra thin, flat hair( and its only shoulder length) If there's any styles that can be done for such hair, please post a photo, and a list of the products I have to put in my hair and what to do with them. THX! Oh, and I also have an oval face, very round.

How do I look emo without teasing or using tones and tones of hairspray?
Q. I have blonde straight hair. I really don't want to tease my hair or use up a hole can of hairspray. So how can I make it emo? Can you look emo with not so volume hair? Also any other tips? Please and thankyou! P.S no nasty comments! Really what is the point of being mean? You won't get the best answer and you'll just tick that person off.

A. Add some small cute bows, mabye add some crazy highlights to your hair, or cut it shoulder length clip your bangs away from your face with a bobby pin or dye it black with raccoon tails but if you don't want to dye it get extensions, blue and black raccoon tails are the best. Hope I helped!

How can i do emo makeup without looking like a raccoon?
Q. I'm a tanned latina with egyptian eyes and im emo but i can never really do the make up just right. I have black eyes so when i put on black eyeshadow it makes my eyes look flat. Any help?

A. When you do your eyeliner, try and only go until it reaches the point where your eyeball is (like the round part... surrounds the iris??? ;]). From there, go on the inside (your waterline). Add a lot of foundation over dark circles that are under the eye.Try smudging a little white under the black. It will make your eyes look bigger...and not so raccoonish, hahaha :D! And...could you add some color maybe, like a dark blue or purple? Do a lighter (kind of shimmery) color towards the front (towards your nose) and get darker towards the back (or ears, ha! Ohmyy...you probably don't know what I'm talking about). Welll, I hope this helps anyway! :]

Q. On girls I mean. What is the difference that would make it look more preppy or more emo. I hate labels so much but I dont know how else to say it on here. Thanks.

A. emo would be more infront of your face, kinda to one side, long down to your nose, they kinda go across your nose and one eye and are gelled so they are hard and straight in big clumps... preppy would be more on the side, no gell, possibly hair spray, a little shorter, some are angled down... they look softer, if you know what i mean

How Can I Stay Emo and Still Play Sports?
Q. Okay well I'm 14 male and I've been growing into the emo style lately and want to keep it. Like I listen to emo bands, write emo poems, and am planning to grow my hair out this summer to get an emo hairstyle. But how can I keep the/my emo style and still play sports, like what will I do with my hair when I'm playing soccer and doing cross country. Also will I be called a poser just because I play sports yet am still emo??
Asked by ]@$()|\| - Thu Jun 17 13:14:07 2010 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Just wear a bandana or something to keep your hair out of your face when you play sports and you should be fine. And why should you care about what other people think? If you like different things and enjoy being an active part in them, then who's to stop you? 'Poser' is just a word that honestly doesn't have a lot of meaning since the kids throwing it around tend to be posers in their own way.

What Salons are best to ask hairdressers for an emo haircut?
Q. Which salons are best to ask for an emo haircut? Becus i dont want to just go to a random salon and ask for an emo haircut but they dont know what the heezey im talking about. And how would i know if the person would know what an emo cut is or whether the person would be good at styling and cutting my hair into an emo hair?

A. Option 1: A younger, trendier salon - for example Headlines - they often employ younger people who've just come out of college - they will know the up-to-date methods of cutting and styling hair. Have a peek in the window before booking your appointment, check out the hairdressers' own hair - if they have great hair cuts then they'll likely know what you're after. Option 2: Go to your local hairdresser and take a photo - they're less likely to mess it up if they have a picture reference, also explain how you want choppy layers, razor cutting, sideswept fringe, sideparting etc. Option 3: Cut it yourself - risky, but you could buy a razor comb and you'd be less likely to mess it up as it cuts such small amount of hair. Maybe this is only… [cont.]

How would I tell a 50-something year old the difference between scene and emo?
Q. Theres this scene hair that i want, but he says its emo, mainly because i dont think hes ever heard of scene kids. hes totally against emo and stereotypes them. how do i explain scene to him and make it sound appealing towards me as apposed to emo?

A. I always thought scene was just emo with the introverted depression turned into extroverted excess in order to rebel against the latter without straying too far from it. You know. Like a less dedicated emo. But I'm biased against these things. Unless you take the wider approach, where scene is just thrifty retro alternative.

A. Wear a black wifebeater or tank top under your blouse, and leave an extra couple of buttons unbuttoned. Get a studded belt and wear it low on your hips. Get some Doc Martens. They do wonders for an outfit. If you're not into the boot look, wear skate shoes instead.

How do I get people to quit calling me emo?
Q. I'm not emo, and I'm sick of everyone saying I am. They say that I'm anti-social, I look like a guy, I need to talk more, I should stop reading at lunch, I should go to parties, etc. I'm NOT EMO, I'm just not the sort of person who enjoys conversing with most kids my own age. Don't get me wrong, I'm nice to everyone. But how do I get the emo thing to disappear?

A. People always talk. They'll talk no matter what. They'll always try to bring you down. Just ignore them and stand up straight and be who you are. When you show them that, there would be no one to bring that girl down. Confidence is the key to power. Believe in yourself and don't let them get to you. Best Wishes =)

Make her wear a band t-shirt or just a goofy colored tee. Then make her wear skinnies but make her low ride with them. They should be black or grey. Also if you used to play with barbies or bratz...u know the little bracelts that the barbies wore. Well take that and try to use it as a lip ring. A little something like this...

Whats the difference between Emo and Pop punk?
Q. Does Emo go hand in hand with Pop punk, yet it doesnt always work the other way? Whats the difference?
Asked by Confused - Fri Jul 31 23:00:49 2009 - - 4 Answers - 2 Comments
A. These days, the terms are used almost interchangeably. That's not the correct usage, however. Emo refers to a genre of music that developed in Washington D.C. out of hardcore punk. It was more melodic, and the lyrics were more personal. Pop-punk, meanwhile, is just punk rock with heavy pop influences. Much original punk, like the Ramones, and many other New York punk bands are pop-punk. The genre gained new life in the '90s, with Green Day, and later Blink-182. So bands like Fall Out Boy are pop-punk, but considering they have no relation to hardcore punk, it's hard to call them emo. Some actual emo bands include Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate and Cap'n Jazz.

How do you do emo/scene hair without really short layers?
Q. I have wavy hair and for Halloween I'm being emo and I want to do that scene hair, but how do I do it without short layers (the shortest I'm doing is the bottom of my chin if I get layers). Can you do scene hair at that length? Thanks!
